JEREMY SHELL, BA, MBA
Founder, Principal
Jeremy Shell began his career in Canadian Media Finance more than two decades ago on film and television sets across Canada. Working as an Assistant Director, Production Manager, Line Producer, Producer, and Executive Producer, Jeremy learned the intricacies of media production cost centers, and the realities of financial decision making.
Jeremy first mastered media financial management operating his own projects. After completing an MBA on academic scholarship, Jeremy began supporting friends and colleagues with the financial planning and administration of their Canadian film and television projects. This lead to a great stretch at Chesler / Perlmutter, where Jeremy worked as Director of Business Affairs under the legendary David Perlmutter and Lewis Chesler. Jeremy learned a great deal from David and Lewis. David had consulted on the creation of modern Canadian film and television tax credits. No one knew the business like Lewis Chesler. Jeremy worked with Lewis and David on eight television movie projects, and in the development and support of numerous others, as well as in the management of an impressive back catalog of films.
In 2007, Jeremy founded Meems Media Financial, offering financial and consulting services to productions big and small across television, film, and alternative media. Jeremy has enjoyed providing financial services and guidance to Canadian media companies and International production partners doing business in Canada. Jeremy has become an expert in CMF / Telefilm application submission, envelope management, and reporting. In recent years, Shell has consulted on dozens of Canadian film and television projects, proudly producing “The Scarehouse”, “Sweet Daddy Siki” and “The Sheik”.
Jeremy reviews every single Meems Media Financial filing. He takes great pride in this practice and wants the very best for each of our clients.
